Chennai Girl Anukreethy become the Miss India for 2018


Anukreethy Vas has been crowned as the winner of Femina Miss India 2018. Beauty, elegance and style - that's what exactly describes the winner, Anukreethy, who hails from Tamil Nadu. The first runner-up was Meenakshi Chaudhry who hails from Haryana and the second runner-up was awarded to Shreya Rao, who hails from Andhra Pradesh.
                     
The Miss India event in its 55th edition featured 30 state winners who competed for the prestigious Miss India crown. The winner of the beauty pageant will now represent India on an international level.

Two runners-up will represent India at Miss Grand International 2018 and Miss United Continents 2018. Manushi Chillar from Haryana made the country proud winning Miss World 2017, prior to which Priyanka Chopra had won the crown 17 years ago.
 
Auditions were held in 30 states across the country to find the next beauty queen of India. The top three contestants from every state were given a chance to participate in the state zonal crowing ceremony. The state winner was then given an opportunity to represent her state at the finale of Miss India 2018.
