Ausralian Cricket Looks Very New . Wll they succee?

When Australia turn up on the field for the first time since the unceremonious tour of South Africa earlier this year, they will be without the services of their two stalwarts, David Warner and Steven Smith. There are a couple of major changes among others for their present tour of England, where they play five ODIs and a one-off T20I. It will not only be the first time sinceJustin Langer has taken over from Darren Lehmann as the head coach, but will also be a first-timer for Paine as an ODI captain. However, an inexperienced side as Australia have on the tour, doesn't seem to bother vice-captain Aaron Finch.
The dynamic limited-overs opener isn't breaking sweat over his new role in the 50-over format and with a fine 78 under his belt that saw his side win the first of the two warm-up games on tour, against Sussex on Friday (June 8), Finch sounded confident of doing well in his new job. "Being vice-captain you lead by example on and off the field, but I think that, being an opening batter, you have the opportunity to set the tone for the team, so that's not much of a change," he said. "But with a young group, there's not a lot of experience, so it's about helping them as much as I can, along with Tim, Glenn Maxwell and other guys who've been around for a time."
While Australia's inexperience marks the opposition camp the clear favourites in the upcoming series, Finch sees this as an opportunity for the youngsters to overturn the team's dwindling stocks in the 50-over format. The 31-year-old strongly believes that the energy the new faces have brought into the squad is already showing well. Also, the time off for most of the blokes, who weren't a part of the IPL in April and May, will be raring to have a crack in the middle.
"There's a lot of excitement around, any time you bring young guys into the squad for their first or second tour, it brings a lot of energy around the group. There's a few guys here that it's the first time I've toured with and I've been around a little while now. But our one-day cricket hadn't been that great over the last 18 months to two years, so who knows, if we give these young guys a few opportunities, they can do some wonderful things. There are some guys in this squad who are going to be great players," he added.
"A lot of the guys have had time off over the last couple of months, the guys who weren't in the IPL, so it's a great chance to get stuck into cricket."
Players aside, head coach Langer, too will stride out to achieve a lot of success as he aims to start with a clean slate with the boys. While the veteran opener has in the past clarified about his stance on playing hard, he was also clear about setting a new precedent in terms of player's behaviour and culture without compromising on the fierceness of cricket. "When we got to Brisbane for our training camp. it was the first time that Langer had had a chance to address us all together. He just laid down what he expected of the Australian cricket team, and how he sees the team going forward. There wasn't anything that you wouldn't expect a new coach to do.
"But you don't want to be in his glare!" Finch chuckled. "I've been there before, not on this tour, but in the past. There were some easy comments you could make to him when he was coach of Western Australia. It was easy to wind him up."
As much as it is an opportunity for the players to do well on this tour, he believes that Langer too will look bring forth a new culture in the team, one that is not devoid of results. "They are both great coaches in their own right. We've had a lot of success with [Darren Lehmann] as an Australian coach, and JL [Langer] I've no doubt will have a lot of success. With Perth, he's done some wonderful things. And at the end of the day, whoever is coach of the side has the opportunity to mould the culture the way they want it," he noted.
When both England and Australia last locked horns in the 50-over format earlier this yea, it was England who won the five-match series 4-1.
